Torino boss Giampiero Ventura said that upcoming Europa League opponents Zenit Saint Petersburg is the type of team that he wanted to face.
The Granata drew out the Russian giants in the Europa League round of 16 draw on Friday, and Ventura is looking forward to the clash against Andre Villas-Boas’ men.
“We wanted a team that was strong and from abroad. I would say that we hit the target!” Ventura told the official Torino website.
Torino head into the fixture full of confidence after impressively knocking out Athletic Club in the previous round, and enjoying a good spell of form in the Serie A.
The Granata head to the Petrovsky Stadium for the first leg, before welcoming Zenit to the Stadio Olimpico in the return leg.
