Ignazio Abate has admitted that it is time for AC Milan to start repaying the fans of the club following their important win on Saturday.
The 28-year-old was part of the side that ended their recent poor run of form with a somewhat controversial win against Cagliari on Saturday evening and Abate is aware of the importance that the fans played in the result.
“Our fans have always supported us, now it’s up to us to give them something more,” Abate told Mediaset Premium after the game.
“We have what it takes to get them to come back to the stadium, we are back on track after tonight’s win.
“It was a difficult game, because of both the atmosphere and our situation.
“The coach is the soul of the team, he is a man who lives for football, he has the support of the players.
“We showed character and we brought home three important points.
“We know that many times passion is not enough,” he also said, speaking to Rai Sport.
