Lazio boss Stefano Pioli has become the latest coach to be linked with the AC Milan job at the end of the current campaign when Filippo Inzaghi is inevitably relieved of his duties.

The 49-year-old former Bologna coach only took over at the Stadio Olimpico in June but he has impressed in his first season with the Biancocelesti currently sitting third in Serie A and hopeful of Champions League football next term.

Corriere della Sera understands that Milan’s interest in Pioli stems not only from Lazio’s impressive league position, but also from the fact that he has the third lowest contract release clause in Serie A which is reportedly set at €600,000.

With Inzaghi almost certain to be sacked come June, the soon-to-be-vacant Rossoneri post has previously been linked with the likes of Antonio Conte, Vincenzo Montella, Luciano Spalletti and Maurizio Sarri.
