Mattia Destro’s future at AC Milan is uncertain with suggestions in Italy that the Rossoneri will not take up their option to by the player in the summer.

The 24-year-old Italian international arrived at Milan in the winter transfer window, on loan with an option to buy set at €16 million.

However, according to Sportmediaset.it, it is unlikely that Milan will exercise the option in Destro’s contract and the striker will therefore return to Roma, given he has managed to score only two goals in seven games since his arrival.

The figure set in the contract is deemed too high by the Rossoneri, but a final decision is expected to be taken by Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi, or his successor, on the San Siro bench at the end of the season.
