AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has denied any knowledge of a meeting with Empoli to discuss the availability of Maurizio Sarri.

Reports have suggested that Galliani would utilise the Rossoneri’s Serie A visit to Fiorentina on Monday evening as an opportunity to speak with nearby Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi about the issue.

“There will be no meeting,” said Galliani to Milan Channel.

“Forza Pippo!”

Naples-born Sarri is said to be high on the list of potential replacements for current incumbent Filippo Inzaghi in the San Siro hot-seat after a campaign in which his young team have impressed, while the Azzurri coach has admitted to being flattered by the speculation.

The Tuscan outfit sit only five points adrift of AC Milan having played a game more than their more illustrious rivals, as the 18-time Italian champions head into their game in hand away to the Viola.
