AC Milan enjoyed a surprise visit to Milanello for their Tuesday training sessions from none other than former forward Mario Balotelli.
The striker was sold to Liverpool last summer but was given time off by current manager Brendan Rodgers after their FA Cup meeting with Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.
‘Super Mario’ took the chance to return to his old club and visit his former teammates on Tuesday, posting a picture on his Instagram with close friend Stephan El Shaarawy and the caption “Milan, what a pleasure to see you.”
Milan did confuse the situation surrounding his arrival however by posting an old picture on their website of the player last season training with the Rossoneri, leading some to question whether or not he was taking part in the training session on Tuesday.
This picture was soon removed from the club’s website.
Agent Mino Raiola also insisted this week that his client is enjoying the challenge of being worked like he has never been asked to before in his career under the Anfield boss.
