According to the latest reports, AC Milan will not have to pay any kind of fee to Chelsea for the loan deal of Marco Van Ginkel.

The Dutch midfielder moved to the Rossoneri in the Summer on a season-long-deal that included a potential fee of €1 million, however this payment is no longer necessary due to a clause concerning the number of appearances made by the player.

Tuttosport.com have revealed that the fee would only be paid on the basis that the 22-year-old would make at least 20 appearances for Milan and this has not been the case.

Due to persistent injury problems and lack of form, Van Ginkel has only managed six appearances this season and therefore this target will not be met.

The Rossoneri still have the option to sign the former Vitesse man on a permanent transfer in the Summer but this is looking increasingly unlikely.
