Inter forward Mauro Icardi may miss the trip to Napoli this weekend due to a muscular strain.
The 22-year-old Argentine picked up a knock and left the team’s afternoon practice early on Thursday.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that although Icardi is yet to undergo tests for more clarity on his condition, the club is concerned that he may not be in contention for the match against the Partenopei on Sunday night.
The former Sampdoria man has been the Nerazzurri’s to-go man for goals in recent weeks, netting five in the last six Serie A fixtures and 14 in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.
Roberto Mancini’s alternatives for Rodrigo Palacio’s partner in the front line are the German international Lukas Podolski, who is still goalless for Inter after nine appearances, and 18-year-old George Puscas, who featured in the 1-0 Coppa Italia loss at the Stadio San Paolo in early February.
