Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has said that the first leg of the Coppa Italia against Lazio was a high tempo game, similar to that of the Premier League.
Manolo Gabbiadini rescued a point for the Partenopei, before the reigning champions host the Biancocelesti in the return leg on April 8 to fight for a place in this year’s final.
“The game’s intensity was similar to that of the Premier League,” Benitez told Rai Sport after the match.
“The team is very strong and we are working well to make it stronger for the future,” the 54-year-old added.
The Lazio opener was helped out by some weak Napoli defenidng, but Benitez wasn’t too fussed and said you can’t focus on one moment.
“There were bad moments in our defence, but you could say the same about Lazio.
“Both teams had chances.”
