Rafael Benitez NapoliNapoli coach Rafael Benitez has said his side had chances to score against Atalanta, and cheekily made reference to the refereeing performance.

The Partenopei drew 1-1 with La Dea at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday night in Serie A, with the visitors taking the lead before Duvan Zapata equalised for Napoli, but Benitez said that they could have scored more goals.

“We had many chances to score but didn’t take them,” the 54-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

Napoli are currently chasing third sport in the Serie A table in order to qualify for the Champions League next season, but so are Roma and Lazio who both won on Sunday which makes Benitez’s task harder.

“The other teams have won, so we have to work very hard.”

The Spanish coach also showed anger at the referees during the match and thinks rules should be changed.

“I want to repeat myself in saying I want two more referees in games.”
