Rafael Benitez NapoliNapoli coach Rafael Benitez has responded to claims that his coaching abilities are suited more to cup competitions rather than the league.

The Spanish tactician has claimed that certain tournaments have a more level playing field than that of a league season.

“The problem with winning the league is that different squads are stronger and some spendĀ a lot more money,” said Benitez when speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“In reality the cup is different because it is all about the moment and the individual skills of the players and the coach.”

Benitez has also spoken about Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne and how is opinion is best when it comes to choosing the 23-year-old’s position.

“Lot’s of people want to see Insigne playing just behind the striker but I see him every day in training and I don’t think that he has the skills that are need to play in this positition.

“Due to his youth I believe that he will score more goals but he must improve his finishing when in front of goal.”
