Andrea Bertolacci ItalyItaly midfielder Andrea Bertolacci believes the Azzurri were unlucky in claiming a 2-2 draw with Bulgaria on Saturday night, though he did add they should be satisfied with a draw after their missed chances.

The 24 year old Italian midfielder had to be taken off due to injury in in the 72nd minute despite trying to play on with an ongoing problem to his shoulder, with Eder netting the equalizing goal 12 minutes later.

“In the first half we weren’t focused but afterwards we were better,” he said while speaking to Rai Sport.

“It’s never easy away from home and I’m sorry that we didn’t win, but maybe we deserved more after everything that we created.”

When speaking about his injury, Bertolacci was disappointed at having to be subbed off but maintained his will to carry on for the Azzurri.

“It’s a shame about what happened and I’m sorry for my injury, because this is really important for me and I want to do well.

“I felt it at the start of the second half and I was a bit annoyed.”
