Torino president Urbano Cairo believes that a solution must be foundĀ for Parma and that there are other clubs following a similar trend, putting the Italian game in danger.

Parma’s demise has been well documented and yet there is still shock at how a club was allowed to accumulate such unmanageable debts with Cairo acknowledging the severity of the situation.

“It is a serious matter for Parma,” Cairo told Radio Deejay.

“But we must be careful here because there are other clubs in a similar position to Parma, Italian football is in danger in certain areas.

“We must find a solution at the assembly on 6 March, it is not right that Parma plays some games and not others.

“I am only one of twenty and I cannot say what we will do at the meeting, the decision on Parma will be taken by the majority.”

Cairo also discussed his side’s Europa League run and winning away at Athletic Club.

“It was a unique thing, no Italian side had managed to win at Athletic’s stadium.

“We are happy and proud but we must think about tomorrow [Sunday].”
