Antonio Candreva LazioAntonio Candreva feels Lazio should have taken their chances in the 1-1 Coppa Italia semi-final first-leg against Napoli on Wednesday, but is still hopeful of completing the job at the Stadio San Paolo.

The Aquile went ahead after Miroslav Klose got on the end of a Felipe Anderson through ball, but Gabbiadini equalised from close range after good work from Gonzalo Higuain.

“We played a very good first half where we created a lot of chances to close the game off,” the midfielder remarked.

“In the second half our performance dropped, so a draw was a fair result.

“The return leg at the San Paolo will be difficult, but we were can do well and go through.

“Napoli benefit from the 1-1 result, and we regret not exploiting all the chances we created in the first half.

Candreva was taken off with 20 minutes to play in the second half after a poor performance, also gaining a low score in Forza Italian Football’s player ratings.

“I can and have to give more,” he continued.

“I haven’t been well physically of late, and got an injury against Palermo. It isn’t an excuse, but I am suffering a little.”

Lazio are also fighting for third spot in Serie A and a Champions League place, as well as the Coppa Italia, but Candreva knows which he would prefer to have at the end of the season.

“I would say the Champions League, so I would love to get third place. However, this takes nothing away from the Coppa Italia.”

Napoli host Lazio in the second-leg of the semi-final on April 8.
