Former Roma forward Antonio Cassano has revealed that he had chosen to join the Lupi over Juventus for many reasons and has confessed that he loved his time at the capital city club.

The 32-year-old, who is currently without a team, had played for the Giallorossi from 2001-06 and he has insisted that if he were given the option to choose between Stadio Olimpico outfit and the Bianconeri again he would choose Roma every time.

Cassano spoke to ‘Heroes‘ on Canale 5 about his great memories of his time in Italy’s capital and praised club captain Francesco Totti, while also joking about the Lupi legend’s fondness for him.

“Did I have fun at Roma? Yes, a lot of fun, I had chosen Roma over Juventus for many reasons,” said the Italian.

“Would I make the same choice again? Yes, for the rest of my life. Roma at that time was an ideal team in an ideal city for someone like me.

“If you go to Turin you have to do things a very certain way, you have to walk a straight line, as I have said many times before.

“Totti? He’s still a baby boy today, even at 38-years-old. It’s like the more he ages the better he gets, he’s still doing very well.

“I’m happy every time I see him, and to still see him playing. I’m even happier when he says that out of every champions he has played with, I’m the strongest one. It’s the truth.”
