Chievo will host 11th place Palermo Saturday at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in hopes of downing a Rosanero side that have not won since February 14th.

The Flying Donkeys are coming off an impressive 2-0 win away to Genoa following some good defensive performances to hold both AC Milan and Roma to 0-0 stalemates at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Chievo’s top scorer Alberto Paloschi will try to do some damage from the onset, having scored both goals against the Grifone last week and notching up 7 goals total this season, whereas exciting Palermo prospect Paulo Dybala will look to revive his goal scoring exploits from earlier on in the season.

Statistically, both teams share a very even chance coming out of this one as the victor, with the Rosanero just edging it with six wins to Chievo’s five in their last 18 matchups, having both drawn another seven.

The Gialloblu can use this game to solidify their bottom half position and boost theirselves farther away from the dreaded relegation zone, and coach Rolando Maran will have a full healthy squad to chose from, save for 19 year old Juventus loanee Frederico Mattiello.

Palermo still have something to prove and may make an effort to initiate a late push for European positions. The team took Serie A by surprise after a slow start in the beginning season, surging up the table to keep pace with contenders for Europe, but as of late seemed to have burned out a little, although playing admirably against table toppers Juventus last weekend.

The newly promoted team will want to show the rest of Serie A that they are not a one season wonder and can hold their own against the bigger teams of the peninsula.

Unfortunately, Giuseppe Iachini will be without two experienced defenders in Michel Morganella at right wing back and Giancarlo Gonzalez at centre back.
