Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono believes the Nerazzurri must be wary of the attacking threat Sampdoria pose ahead of Sunday’s game at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri D’Italia.
The home side currently sit 17th in Serie A but the tactician is confident the Dea will soon turn their performances into much needed points.
“We have had a tough run of games recently but I am pleased with how the team has performed in those games,” Colantuono said at the pre-match press conference.
“Now we have to take those performances into the forthcoming games against the teams within our reach and turn them into points.”
Colantuono expressed his admiration for how Sampdoria have performed this season, stating that they are in the hunt for a place in Europe thanks to their quality.
“You have to consider them as a major contender for European places because of where they are in the table at this stage of the season.
“They are a team that is especially dangerous going forward with the options they have and it will require our utmost respect and attention as these can be the most difficult games.”
