Bertolacci - GenoaItaly coach Antonio Conte has replaced Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio with Genoa’s Andrea Bertolacci for the Azzurri’s latest international fixtures.

Marchisio injured his right knee in training on Friday and it was believed that the 29-year-old could have been out for six to eight months although further tests performed by the Juventus medical staff have revealed that the injury is not as serious as first feared.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Conte has decided to replace Marchisio with Bertolacci for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Bulgaria on Saturday and the friendly against England on Tuesday.

Bertolacci made his Italy debut on November 18 last year against Albania at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa, where he plays his club football.

The Azzurri defeated the Albanians 1-0 in the friendly.

The Grifone midfielder has played 22 times for Italy across various youth levels, including seven international appearances with the under-21 squad.
