Coming off a 3-0 loss at home to Lazio, Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco feels the absences of key players in defense penalized the Neroverdi heavily in the match.

Goals from Felipe Anderson, Miroslav Klose and Marco Parolo proved to be enough to sink Sassuolo at home as Lazio cruised to an easy vistory.

“We tried to stay in the game, but we did not succeed. Missing half of our defense is what made the difference. That was our greatest difficulty today,” said Di Francesco to Mediaset Premium.

“Everyone in football knows that you will not become a full-back or a center-back in a week, but this should not be an excuse.

“The absences in defense penalized us heavily. I would have expected us to be a little more clean in our dribble and because of that, it helped out Lazio.”
