Despite sitting rock bottom of the Serie A table without a win in ten games, Parma coach Roberto Donadoni still holds faith in his side after the 2-0 loss to Torino at Stadio Ennio Tardini on Sunday evening.

The Gialloblu were beaten by goals from Maxi Lopez and Migjen Basha, and also had captain Alessandro Lucarelli sent off, yet the coach feels that his side shouldn’t give up hope just yet.

“We will take pride and honour our job until the end, and will not accept defeat,” he claimed.

“We were always in the game today, up until the first goal there was only Parma, and we had a great opportunity with [Antonio] Nocerino at 0-0.

“We created chances, but didn’t the cutting edge. Then, with the team outnumbered, you can’t ask for much more.

When speaking of Lucarelli’s dismissal, he felt that a mix of anger and unfairness came in to play.

“The sending off was due to an accumulation of tension,” he summed up before stating, “but with a little bit more fairness from the referee things could probably have gone differently.

“Even the moment where Belfodil was called for offside could have led to an equaliser, but again we were penalised.

This is not the first time Donadoni has accused referring decisions with going against Parma, with the recent outing against Sassuolo raising issues. But this time he began to choose a more relaxed approach and talked of how he hopes to take things as the come.

“Now there is the break for the national team commitments and the guys will have a few days off to relieve any tension.

“For example yesterday some players slept at home to calm down, we want to handle the situations well and not make it worse.”
