Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino has revealed that Roma’s plans for a new stadium have been ratified by the local council and full details of the development will be presented in June.

After new designs were announced earlier in the month, Marino has confirmed that the full project will be detailed by June 15.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Mayor stated: “The City has received clarification on the status of the final project for the new stadium in Tor di Valle, and by June 15 the club will present the whole project.

“This project announcement will not only include the new stadium, but also the infrastructure and surrounding buildings.”

Mayor Marino also confirmed that he had met with Roma president James Pallotta, and that positive meetings had taken place as the Lupi look set to press ahead with plans to leave the Stadio Olimpico and move into a new, state-of-the-art 50,000 seater stadium.
