Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini has decided to remained positive despite the 1-0 defeat against Juventus at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

This latest defeat for the Rossoblu means that they are now winless in their previous four Serie A games and languish in ninth place in the league table on 37 points.

“It’s not easy to beat the Juventus defence,” Gasperini said to Sky Sport Italia. “This game will give us strength and awareness ahead of the remainder of the season.

“We lacked a bit of precision as well but undoubtedly the performance is positive.”

Bianconeri forward Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the game, a stunning strike in the first half, which left the Rossoblu boss frustrated.

“When the ball ends up in the feet of Tevez, it becomes a problem,” the tactician continued.

“Maxime Lestienne? He is a quick player but today was not his best game.”

The 57-year-old then praised midfielder Andrea Bertolacci for his call-up into the Italy National Team for the upcoming friendlies.

“Bertolacci being selected for the national team is a positive for me. He has quality and I hope he proves it soon in the international arena.”

Gasperini then commented on the controversial handball by Bertolacci at the stroke of half-time.

” Was it a penalty? I did feel it was a penalty from the bench,” he continued.

“Also, there was an incident with Perotti, at normal speed I thought he fell, but looking back at it, it seems they were both penalties.”
