Torino defender Kamil Gilk claims that the Granata can be proud of their performance despite going out of the Europa League to Zenit St Petersburg.
Il Toro won the second leg 1-0 in Turin but went out 2-1 on aggregate, however Gilk is already looking forward and confident the club can build on their achievements.
“We can be very proud of our efforts,” Gilk told Premium Calcio after the match at the Stadio Olimpico.
“I am very proud of all the players and the fans, who were superb.
“No we go forward and look to repeat this success next season and in the years to come.
“We came up against Zenit who are far superior to us economically, so to lose by only one goal shows how well we played.
“It is shame that we did not progress as we had plenty of chances in the second leg.
“It could have been 2-0 at half time but the goalkeeper was brilliant for them.”
