Torino centre-back Kamil Glik has refuted reports linking him with a move to England and even indicated the possibility of signing a contract extension.

The 27-year-old has been instrumental this season in guiding his team to eighth place in the Serie A table, scoring six goals, while also playing an important role in the club’s qualification into the Round of 16 of the Europa League.

“I recently told the our sporting director Gianluca Petrachi that I am not going anywhere,” the Polish told Tuttosport.

Premier League teams such as Arsenal, West Ham United and Newcastle United have shown an interest in the Granata captain in recent weeks on account of some noteworthy performances.

“I think it’s the best season of my career, but I hope to get better and better,” he continued.

“It is not easy being captain as the fans are demanding, but they have confidence in me and I am the first foreigner in the history of Torino to receive this honor, ”

The defender, who has a contract with the Granata till the summer of 2017, has made 30 appearances so far this season and has scored six goals, all in the league.

“I have a contract with Torino for two more seasons and during the summer break we will think about what to do next.”

This should come as good news to the club as they prepare to take on Udinese at the Stadio Friuli on Sunday afternoon.
