Dieter Hecking has admitted that his Wolfsburg side will not underestimate the quality of Inter ahead of their UEFA Europa League tie on Thursday evening.

The German outfit are set to host an under-performing Nerazzurri side at the Volkswagen Arena in the first leg of their Round of 16 clash and despite Wolfsburg’s strong form, Hecking is not taking the Inter game lightly.

“If we make the mistake of underestimating Inter, then we have already lost the tie,” Hecking told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday.

“We are talking about two incredibly difficult games, Inter are one of the greatest teams in world football.”

The 50-year-old tactician also briefly discussed the various injuries that his squad has to deal with, admitting that both Ivan Perisic and Maximilian Arnold would be late decisions as they both look to regain full match fitness.
