Inter could move for Genoa’s highly rated young goalkeeper Mattia Pern as a replacement for their current shot stopper Samir Handanovic should the Slovenian international depart at the end of the season.

The Nerazzurri are already under investigation for breaches of FFP and with Champions League football an unlikely prospect for next season the club know they will need to sell players to raise capital for investment in their squad.

Handanovic is regarded as one of the club’s more valuable assets and he could be sacrificed in order to strengthen other areas of the side.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Inter would turn to Perin to replace the former Udinese keeper, although it understands that another option under consideration is Pepe Reina, currently Manuel Neuer’s understudy at Bayern Munich.

Perin, who has been consistently linked with AC Milan in the past, is regarded as Gianluigi Buffon’s natural heir with the Italian national.
