Inter see Guangzhou Evergrande star Zhang Linpeng as the perfect signing as they aim to strengthen their brand in the Asian market.
The 25-year-old is regarded as one of the elite players in Asia, and was lauded by Marcello Lippi as ‘the best Chinese footballer in the Chinese Super League’ during his time as the boss of the Chinese giants.
Sportmediaset report that central defender Linpeng, who is also comfortable as a right-back, has emerged as a target for Nerazzurri boss Roberto Mancini.
The signing of Linpeng will also allow Inter to tap into the Chinese market, but the club deny that the signing would be solely for marketing purposes and are convinced the player would be a quality addition on the field as well.
