Inter have been linked with a move for Barcelona full-back Dani Alves but they will face competition for the Brazilian international’s signature.

The 31-year-old’s contract with the Catalan club expires in June while the player’s high wage demands continue to deter Barcelona from offering an extension to his current deal.

According to Spanish sports newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, Alves visited Milan over the weekend for talks regarding his future despite the right back’s preference to continue his career with the La Liga club.

The former Sevilla defender is currently free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of Spain, as there is less than six months to run on his current deal.

The Nerazzurri will face competition from a host of Europe’s top clubs as the summer approaches, with Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United all ready to enter the battle for the player’s services.
