Following AC Milan’s victory over Cagliari at the Stadio Meazza on Saturday evening, coach Filippo Inzaghi spoke of his happiness at his side’s performance and his determination to build on the win.

The Rossoneri secured the win thanks to a brace from Jeremy Menez and a volley from Philippe Mexes, coming off the back of Monday’s last-gasp defeat to Fiorentina. Inzaghi believes that his side were unlucky in that fixture and got the win that their performance deserved against a dangerous Cagliari.

Inzaghi told Mediaset Premium, “I’m happy for the team because in the last few matches we didn’t get the results we deserved. These are three important points which will give us confidence.”

The coach also refused to be drawn on the protests of the club’s ultras, instead looking at the positive elements of the win.

“I would rather focus on the positives from the match rather than the whistles of the fans,” the tactician continued.

“We have 10 finals now and we must look forward. We have been unlucky with injuries but things will settle and we will make a push up the table.”

  1. Milan’s victory wasn’t deserved because the penalty was given to Milan was a bad call. They were lucky to win the match.
