Lenoardo Bonucci spoke after Juventus’ 2–1 home loss on Thursday night in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals, praising Fiorentina coach Vicenzo Montella’s tactics.
The Juventus defender were stunned by Fiorentina, who took an important lead in their two-legged cup tie by grabbing two away goals.
Bonucci bemoaned Juventus’ defensive lapses, allowing Mohamed Salah twice in to score the match’s winning brace as well as he praised Montella
“Fiorentina were good at taking advantage of our mistakes, especially in the opening 10 minutes of the second half,” Bonucci said to RAI Sport.
“The game was decided by two balls that we lost; Montella put [Mario] Gomez on me and man-marked [Claudio] Marchisio.”
Juventus must now travel to Florence to overturn the 2–1 deficit to book a place in the Coppa Italia final.
