Leonardo Bonucci and Claudio Marchisio are in talks with Juventus about renewing their contracts with the Serie A champions.

27-year-old Bonucci has been a first-team regular since joining the Turin club in 2010, and signed a five-year deal in June 2012 that Juve directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici are working towards renewing.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Italian international’s change of agent has opened up the chance for contract negotiations, as the defender’s importance to the team is as evident as ever – with 31 appearances already under his belt in the 2014/15 season.

The Old Lady midfielder Marchisio is also reportedly in line for a contract extension, with his current five-year contract set to run out in June 2016. It is also believed that Marchisio’s negotiations are further down the line than team-mate Bonucci’s.

The 29-year-old has had another important season for his hometown club, notching two goals in 30 appearances having filled in Andrea Pirlo’s playmaking role in the early weeks of the season as Juventus look for their fourth consecutive Serie A title.
