Miroslav Klose could leave Lazio in favour of a return to former club Kaiserslautern at the end of the season.

The German striker has returned to good form recently and has one year left on his contract with the Biancocelesti, after the automatic extension was caused when the 36-year-old made his 20th appearance of the season for the club.

However, Sky Sport Italia report that Klose may leave Stefano Pioli’s side if they don’t qualify for the Champions League this season.

While a move to the MLS is being talked about, there are also rumours that German club Kaiserslautern are looking to secure the World Cup winner’s signature and and have him return 11 years after he left in 2004, where he scored 44 goals in 120 league appearances.

Klose joined Lazio from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2011 and has appeared 103 times in Serie A since, scoring 41 goals.
