Former Roma keeper Franco Tancredi has weighed in with his own opinion regarding tonight’s match with league leaders Juventus, suggesting that his old team cannot afford to slip if they have any ambition of winning the Serie A title.

Monday evening sees the Giallorossi host Massimilliano Allegri’s table-topping side, with a nine point advantage separating the rivals in the race for the Scudetto.

“I believe this game could decide the league,” Tancredi told Radio Rai.  “For Roma it’s their last chance at hauling in Juventus. Nine points is a huge lead but if they can win I think the battle will go down to the very final weekend.”

Between 1979 and 1990, the keeper played over 280 games at the Stadio Olimpico and was part of the Roma side that lost to Liverpool during the 1984 European Cup final.
