Trofeo TIM 2014 - El Shaarawy of AC MilanAC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy looks set to leave the San Siro, with Liverpool linked with a summer move for talented youngster.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen his attacking options as Mario Balotelli continues to struggle on Merseyside.

The Metro are reporting Liverpool are interested in taking the Italy international to the English Premier League during the summer, with a fee in the region of €12 million expected to persuade the Rossoneri to sell a player with a chequered injury history.

The 22-year-old has started just 12 league games for Milan this season, meaning a move away from Serie A could benefit the development of the former Genoa winger. El Shaarawy has made 79 appearances since joining Milan in June 2011.

El Shaarawy was linked with a move to Anfield during the January transfer window, but the deal failed to materialise.
