manuel pellegrini manchester cityManchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini would be willing to have discussions with Napoli should a vacancy open up, according to his agent.

Both Pellegrini and the current Partenopei coach Rafael Benitez have been the subject of rumours concerning their job security of late, and the situation has escalated after the Chilean’s representative spoke out.

“Pellegrini has another year on his contract with Manchester City and intends to respect it,” Jesus Martinez initially commented to Radio CRC.

“We do not know then what are the intentions of the leadership.”

Despite his contract running until 2016, recent reports have suggested that the English Premier League champions could dispense of his services sooner should they finish the season without a trophy.

“Pellegrini is not authorised to talk about his position with a club that has a coach under contract. We will have to wait a few more months, then if we get a call from Aurelio De Laurentiis, we will discuss it.”
