AC Milan are apparently  interested in making a move for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.

The 33-year-old joined the Old Trafford club in 2006 and has gone on to be part of the furniture for the Red Devils, but now is believed to be interesting the Rossoneri as they plan their summer spending – or lack of it.

With English midfielder’s contract running out in June, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is keen to understand Carrick’s intentions as they look to set up negotiations for a free transfer to Serie A, according to CalciomercatoNews.com.

Galliani is in no hurry to conclude a deal, as the former West Ham United player is in discussions with the Premier League outfit to get a clearer picture of his own future as United hold an option to extend his contract for a further year.

However, if Carrick’s time in Manchester looks to be coming to an end, having struggled with injuries and made just 13 appearances this season, then Milan are ready to engage with the veteran and begin talks over a transfer to Serie A.
