Inter head coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that Fiorentina are a side built with technically gifted and pacey players and that they play a good style of football.

The Nerazzurri face an inform Fiorentina side who are unbeaten in seven Serie A games on Sunday afternoon and with a win, Mancini’s side could move within one point of the Europa League qualification places.

“[Do Fiorentina play the best football in the league?] I’m not sure, they play well because they have very technical and fast players,” Mancini told reporters at a press conference on Saturday.

“I think Juventus, Napoli and Roma are the best, we just need a little bit of time.

“I’m happy for him [Vincenzo Montella], he is a good guy and deserves to be satisfied.

“He is succeeding in getting Fiorentina to play well.

“I do not know if he [Montella] is ready to take charge of AC Milan, not because it is too early for him.

“I think that he has a great experience in coaching a team that has been fighting for titles.”

Mancini then discussed the current status of several of his players.

“Davide Santon? I think he is a bit tired, he has not played for ten months, he has laid good foundations for his recovery.

“Mateo Kovacic does not need to work his way up the hierarchy, he is already one of my favourites, he just needs to play like he did at Cagliari and he will feature.

“I now expect Lukas Podolski to start scoring goals, against Cagliari he had the chances and is doing better.”
