Inter boss Roberto Mancini has revealed that his team’s ultimate goal is to eventually compete for a top three spot though he admits they only hope of reaching the Europa League this season.

The Nerazzurri currently sit in 10th place on the Serie A table, 10 points outside of a top five position, but the tactician remains positive that the San Siro outfit can turn things around in their final 10 games of the 2014/15 campaign.

Mancini spoke to fans through Inter’s official Facebook page about the Biscione’s objectives and commented on several transfer rumours, including reports claiming that Matteo Kovacic could leave the Milan side this summer.

“There are still 10 games left so we will fight until the end in order to try and qualify for the Europa League,” said the 50-year-old.

“In the future we will try to work for third place and eventually we will aim even higher than that.

“Fabian Schar and Yevhen Konoplyanka? [Inter sporting director Piero] Ausilio is working.

“They are both very good players so we are working on bringing them here in the near future.

“Lukas Podolski? He’s a world champion, it will take anyone time to get used to a new environment.

“Will James Milner join Inter? He’s always maturing as a player, so he will choose what he feels is best for himself.

“Kovacic will remain here and I also like Matteo Darmian.”
