Palermo midfielder Enzo Maresca has admitted that his side do have offensive problems.

The 1-0 away defeat at the hands of Chievo on Saturday made it five games without a win for the Sicilians, and the former Juventus man has stated that it is completely normal for his side to experience a drop in form.

“The last few games have seen a decline in form,” he told Sky. “I have to say that we are excellent in defence, our problem is going forward and scoring.

“We did hit the post a few times in recent games, and if they’d gone in then maybe we would have more points than we do now.

“We were playing really well until a few weeks ago. Now we’re facing some difficulties, which is completely normal in football.”

Maresca then went on to state that he wants to see under-fire AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi remain at the Rossoneri, as well as praising teammate Franco Vazquez who received his first call-up to the Italian national team.

“I played with Inzaghi at Juventus, and I hope he stays as coach of Milan,” he said.

“Vazquez deserves the call-up. He has enormous potential and I hope he can be a strong addition to the national team, we all have his back.”
