Torino striker Maxi Lopez has described the intensity of support from Granata fans as crazy following his January move from Chievo.
Excitement surrounding the club has heightened since the New Year with Toro qualifying for the Europa League Round of 16 and going unbeaten in 12 Serie A rounds during a single season for the first time since 1976-77.
“My new teammates immediately made me feel welcome after I arrived from a difficult period,” the 30-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
“I was not taken into consideration [at Chievo], but here I have been given responsibility.
“When I first arrived the people were a bit nervous, but I have taken a lot of satisfaction as everything is now going well.
“Toro fans live football with a mind blowing intensity, being part of a club with this history is only a pleasure.
“In Turin here are many more Granata fans and this is a beautiful thing.”
