Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella says his side will be prepared for a tricky Europa League quarter-final tie against Dynamo Kiev.

The Viola qualified after a resounding 4-1 aggregate win over fellow Serie A side Roma in the last-16, and now have the Ukrainian Cup holders standing in the way of a first European semi-final since 2008.

“Dynamo Kiev are definitely a trick side to be drawn against, especially as they are in good form and have improved a lot in recent weeks,” Montella told the press after Friday morning’s draw.

“A pitfall for us could be the climate in Ukraine, but we will be ready and above all I hope to have the full squad fit and available.”

Kiev came from behind to knock out English side Everton in the last round, comprehensively winning 5-2 on Thursday for a 6-4 aggregate win, and the Italian coach is wary of their threat.

“The Everton comeback was a big test for them, and they clearly have quality players that are also physically strong.

“We want to progress and most of all I am pleased to avoid the other Italian team [Napoli], it will be good for Italian football if we can both reach the semi-finals.”
