Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel is crediting coach Sinisa Mihajlovic for giving him the opportunity to prove his worth to the side.
The Colombian has only recently joined the Blucerchiati from Udinese and today scored in their 2-1 win away to Atalanta.
“I hope that Mihajlovic will be the key for me to finding my form again,” the striker told Sky Sport Italia. “He believes in me and is giving me the opportunity to do well and I have to continue to do play my part.
“My goal today was great, it allowed us to get back into the game but the important thing was to get the three points.”
Muriel joined Samp during the January transfer window, alongside Cameroon forward Samuel Eto’o, and spoke of his new strike partner.
“It’s easy to build up a relationship with a quality player [like Eto’o]. We have a great understanding and you can see that on the pitch.”
