Napoli are sending scouts to closely watch Atalanta’s Davide Zappacosta with a view to making a bid for the defender at the end of the current campaign.
Despite the two clubs being at the centre of Serie A’s latest refereeing debacle after their 1-1 draw yesterday evening, this will not affect the sides trying to arrange an agreement should a transfer come in for the player.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Zappacosta has been scouted on numerous occasions by the Partenopei, as well as by teams such as Inter and Juventus, and a Summer move for the 22-year-old is almost certainly on the cards.
However, the report suggests that Napoli are ahead in the race for his signature and despite the player not having an impressive outing last night against his prospective new employers, this has not dissuaded them from continuing to monitor the ex-Avellino full back.
