Napoli striker called back from international duty

The striker, who plays for Napoli, is currently on international duty for his country and was due to face Ecuador in the United States for an international friendly on April 1, but he has been called back to Italy by the order of his club.

Il Mattino reports that the Partenopei and coach Rafael Benitez agreed to bring the 27-year-old back to Naples in preparation for their next Serie A game, as they are hoping the influential forward will not get injured before the clash with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on April 4.

‘El Pipita’ will be due back in Italy on April 2.

Higuain has scored 23 times in 46 national appearances for Argentina, while he has netted 30 times in 57 Serie A appearances for Napoli since joining them in 2013.
