Boca Juniors striker Pablo Osvaldo has revealed that he left Inter because he felt that he had failed to make a proper impact at the club despite reports claiming otherwise.

Many had originally though that the 29-year-old had decided to leave the Nerazzurri due to an on-field spat he had with former team-mate Mauro Icardi, though the former Roma man has insisted that the argument was not a big deal and played no part in his choice to make his exit from the San Siro outfit.

Osvaldo spoke to Central Fox about why he chose to prematurely end his time at Inter and commented on his decision to play for Italy instead of his home country of Argentina.

“I did not leave Inter because of the spat with Icardi,” said the Italian international, who is currently on loan at Boca from Southampton.

“It was nothing serious, just a normal disagreement on the field. I left Inter for other reasons.

“Except for Espanyol, I have always left my former teams because of problems regarding my football.

“When I fail and feel that I have nothing more to give to the team, I leave the club.

“My decision to play for Italy? I had originally rejected the idea, but then I realised that it would be virtually impossible to break into the Argentina team because all of the best strikers in the world are born here.”
