Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli has given his approval of reforms made by the Italian football federation in regards to the acquisition of football clubs.

The 37-year-old defender and the AIC (Italian Footballers’ Association) had asked federation (FIGC) president Carlo Tavecchio for these reforms in light of the financial crisis engulfing the Ducali.

The FIGC approved of the reforms for national club licenses on Thursday and the changes took into account things like Financial Fair Play and liquidity guarantees. There will also be stricter controls for anybody who decides to buy shares in a professional Italian football club.

Lucarelli uploaded a screenshot of the announcement from parmafanzine.it onto his Instagram account and the photo caption read, “The first battle has been won!”

Parma have been attracting the interest of investors in the last week after the club was declared bankrupt on March 19.
