Genoa attacking midfielder Diego Perotti believes his side are more than capable of qualifying for next season’s Europa League.

The Grifone currently lie just outside the qualifying places in seventh spot with 36 points and Perotti has admitted it is an achievable goal.

“I hope to qualify for Europe at the end of this season, the team is very united and the goal is possible,” he said at the Genoa Values Cup presentation.

The 26-year-old also revealed he is happy to play in any position for his team, after making a seamless transition from his familiar forward role to an attacking midfielder.

“I have started 20 games this season. I am happy for that and I did not expect it,” Perotti continued.

“My role? I have always played on the left, but I have no problems starting from the centre. In the last game I played in that position and I feel things are going well.”

Perotti and Genoa travel to the Stadio Carlo Castellani to play an in-form Empoli on Sunday afternoon.
