Atalanta coach Edoardo Reja has said his side played well until the end against Napoli.
La Dea took the lead against the Partenopei at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday night in Serie A but the match ended in a 1-1 draw, but Reja says Atalanta played well right until the end even when they conceded the equaliser.
“Today went well, the players kept going right until the final whistle,” the 69-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
The second half saw Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez get sent off, but Reja said this didn’t affect the team.
“Even with the dismissal of Gomez we could play well.”
There was anger on Napoli’s Twitter account following the full time whistle in protest against some unfair refereeing decisions, but Reja didn’t want to intervene.
“I don’t want to get involved, I don’t enjoy the negativity.”
