Roma are considering Sevilla coach Unai Emery as a replacement for Rudi Garcia, who has been the target of severe criticism in the past weeks due to unconvincing results both in Serie A and in the Europa League double-header against Fiorentina.

The 43-year-old tactician has impressed gradually throughout his spell at the Andalusian club, leading his team to a Europa League title last season, as well as a top five finish in the La Liga.

According to Sportmediaset, Emery is the first candidate to replace Garcia in case he gets sacked by the Giallorossi managment.

Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini considers Emery the ideal candidate, as he has demonstrated great qualities mainly in European competitions throughout the past two seasons, unlike Garcia, who has failed in the Champions League group stage, as well as in the knockout phase of the Europa League.
