Roma are reportedly looking to tie up a deal that will bring Manchester City’s James Milner to the Italian capital.
The 29-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, and thus far, negotiations with City have failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion for their party.
According to Il Messaggero, Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini flew to Manchester last week to establish initial lines of communication, with the Giallorossi keen to bring Milner to the Stadio Olimpico on a free transfer in the summer.
Sabatini feels that Milner’s versatility will prove to be a great asset for Roma, and is keen to tie up a deal as soon as possible.
It is also thought that Liverpool are monitoring Milner’s situation as it looks increasingly likely he will leave the City of Manchester Stadium come June.
